This gun was shipped to B. Kitteridge on December 1, 1877 . It was bought by David Tallman and has been known as the Express car buntline . David Tallman was a railroad express car messenger and guard for the CRI & PRR Railroad . He carried this gun with him for 3 decades in central and western United states. Tallman was the law on his Express car and delivered money and mail throughout the wild west . Tallman lived in Jasper, Missouri and died at 80 years of age . He left the buntline to his son who worked for the U. S. Postal Service who used it for plinking and hunting . He in turn left it to his son Samual Tallman Jr who used his grandfathers gun for camping plinking and hunting at 80 years of age he left the gun to John Kenner who became the fourth owner . At some point the barrel was shortened to 7 1/2 inches and was later restored to it's original 16 inch length . The gun has it's original shoulder stock and globe and tang sight .
