This gun belonged to a Deputy Sheriff in Afton , Oklahoma who carried this gun in a Bridge Port Rig . The deputy gave the gun to Henry John Holm who worked on deputy's ranch near Afton, OK. . Johnny later received the gun from his father as a gift . The famous outlaw Billy the Kid was quartered on this ranch on his way to Texas under escort from law enforcement officers . Johnny Holm worked on the Ranch until the war started , he then entered the world war one and served with honors , after the war he returned to Oklahoma and worked for Phillips 66 as an oil man . He used the gun while working for Phillips as a guard among other jobs . The Colt has a 7 1/2 inch barrel with nickel finish , 1 piece walnut grips , 44-40 caliber , bridge port stud . |
