Colt Model 1878 were manufactured in the following caliber’s : 22, 32, 32-20, 38 COLT, 38-40, 44 Russian, 44-40 Frontier, 45 Colt , 450 Boxer, 455 Enfield, 476 Enfield .
Last serial number produced: 51210
There were 280 , 1878’s in all caliber’s engraved by Colt and 33 that were shipped in the white to Hartley and Graham to be engraved by other engravers .
There were 13 revolvers shipped as clean up in 1907.
There were 30 guns shipped to the Atlantic Georgia police department and are so marked on the back strap.
The largest shipment of engraved guns was shipped to E.C. Simmons Hardware in St Louis Missouri.
